As a successful business, Jim Black Construction feels it is extremely important to give back to the local community that has been so supportive of our business. For 30+ years, Jim Black Construction has demonstrated the importance of community relations and service. Through time, energy, education and financial support, we help to instill a respect and appreciation for the diverse needs and unique concerns within our community.
We are proud to be compassionate employers and employees, to fund and volunteer for local nonprofit organizations, and to promote education, youth sports and other programs that make our community a better place to live and work.

Employees and vendors of Jim Black Construction have donated time and materials to Triangle Cross Ranch. Triangle Cross Ranch provides assisted living for adults with cognitive challenges and learning disabilities in Galeton, Colorado. Our area of expertise allowed us to restore a ranch home in need of many repairs to ensure its residents could safely reside within the property. Jim Black Construction’s employees also donate their time to help raise funds and promote the very successful, Triangle Cross Ranch Annual Charity Golf Tournament.
Jim Black Construction is actively involved in supporting local fire departments. Whether lending hands at community open houses, passing out candy during trick-or-treat street, gathering gifts for holiday drives, or attending pancake breakfasts or chili cook-offs, we are continually honored to participate in many annual events hosted by most Metro-Denver fire departments.
Aside from the events, Jim Black Construction is a proud sponsor of both Thornton and Westminster Firefighter Combat Teams. These teams compete in intense competitions around the nation. “The Challenge” seeks to encourage firefighter fitness and demonstrate the profession’s rigors to the public. Competitors wear “full bunker gear” and the SCOTT Air-Pak breathing apparatus, simulating the physical demands of real-life fire fighting, while performing a linked series of five tasks including climbing a five-story tower, hoisting, chopping, dragging hoses and rescuing a life-sized, 175 lb. “victim” as they race against themselves, their opponent and the clock. In 2010 & 2011, the Westminster Combat team qualified to compete at the World Championships in Myrtle Beach, SC. In 2011, the Combat Team finished in the top 10 in both the team relay and the female competition, in which she finished at 7th place.
Jim Black Construction assessed the need, measured, installed and donated windows, trim and paint to provide a beautifully finished home for one of Rebuilding Together’s homeowners in need. Everyone deserves a safe and healthy home. Rebuilding Together Metro Denver and its network of sponsors and volunteers provide crucial home repairs, safety modifications and energy efficiency upgrades to qualified homeowners and community centers in need.
